Company Overview
Verticon Group Limited was formed in December 2004 to provide specialised construction services, equipment hire and labour hire to the building industry on a variety of projects in the high-rise, large commercial, residential and engineering sectors.
In August 2008, Verticon established a property development division to use the expertise of its management and Board to engage in property development activities throughout Australia. Verticon’s first development is a Retail Precinct Project in Melbourne, with the company intending to engage in additional projects as opportunities arise as principal or joint venture partner.
In June 2009, Verticon completed the disposal of its crane and hoist division to focus solely on growing its property development division.
Our Strategy
Following the sale of the crane and hoist division in June 2009, Verticon is using the expertise of its management and Board to engage solely in property development activities as principal or joint venture partner. Verticon’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Torrington, has substantial expertise in construction and property development as do key members of the Board. Overhead costs have been reduced going forward by confining expenditure to wages and salaries, maintaining Verticon’s head office premises in St Kilda Road Melbourne and ongoing compliance costs.
In August 2009 Verticon signed a consultancy agreement with a developer to provide construction and project management expertise for the development and construction of a Retail Precinct Project in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
As part of the consultancy agreement, Verticon will be paid a fee dependent on the success of the Retail Precinct Project. The fee is expected to be up to $10 million and be payable in the 2010/2011 financial year.
Construction of the Retail Precinct Project is due for completion by December 2010.
